Plasticene Art
Students love this activitiy. Get them to do a sketch of the idea first. You may want to cut the cardboard before-hand to have things go more smoothly. I collect empty cereal boxes and use these, but larger cardboard boxes will work as well. Students smear small amounts of Plasticene onto the cardboard, working with a background first (great Art lesson opportunity on background, middleground and foreground) and working up to the foreground. The finished product can be displayed with the final printed story/book.
