myths and legends lend themselves well to visual arts as they are the “stuff” of imagination and creativity

have students read or listen to a myth or legend (there are a variety of cultures to choose from; Native American, Inuit, Australian, East Indian, Korean, Celtic, Greek, Roman, Chinese, etc.) and  illustrate a scene with Plasticene or sculpt a character using Plasticene, clay or Magic Clay
